Inspired by the intricacy and the repetitive method seen in much primitive art, the artist draws our attention to the different meaning that time has in different cultures and ages. In weaving this ponderous mass and displaying it on a metal stand reminiscent of tribal art, the artist is attempting to align artistic labour with the projected exoticism of tribal art and to draw our attention to the similarities of their construction.
