Grayson Perry
.
Born in 1960, British artist and 2003 Turner Prize winner Grayson Perry interplays the traditional forms of ceramics and print-making with strong social narrative by exploring the flaws of our own society both historically and in the present. He embeds messages and social stereotypes within his work with satire and wit yet always with nostalgic images of the bygone past as if re-inventing pottery and cartography as present day tools. A cerebral artist who says 'I want to make something that lives with the eye as a beautiful piece of art, but on closer inspection, a polemic or an ideology will come out of it'. The artist is also well known for his passion for cross-dressing with an incredible range of frocks as his alter-ego Claire.

The artist lives with his wife and daughter and works in London.
